Visit to Erzsébet Szekeres, Hungary

Visit to Erzsébet Szekeres, Hungary
Professor Katus and David van de Velde, president of the Board respectively of the Visiting Committee of the International SOFT Federation, have paid in May a visit to Erzsébet Szekeres, president of the Foundation for Equal Opportunities (FEQ). The latter is based in Csömör, Hungary. It is a founding member-organization of the International SOFT Federation (ISF) and Mrs Szekeres is member of its board. The seat of FEQ is also the seat of ISF. During the visit possibilities have been discussed, among other things, with regard to the development and implementation of international training and education programs for health professionals and volunteers in Csömör. As experience shows, such activities would answer educational needs in the region. In addition, the accommodation in Csömör is rapidly improving, whereas its geographical location is attractive in terms of logistics. At least as important are the knowledge and experience accumulated by Erzsébet Szekeres and her colleagues concerning programs aiming at the improvement of the quality of life of people with disabilities.
